MSI has just announced its new Wind NetOn AP1900 all-in-one nettop computer system enabling users to take advantage of a computer system that provides a perfect balance between energy-saving features and performance. The new nettop enables Intel's highly successful Atom processor inside a system that is equipped with a large 18.5-inch WSXGA 16:9 LCD screen.
According to MSI, its new NetOn AP1900 provides the world's slimmest AIO (All-in-One) PC design, featuring only 35mm in width. This design feature will allow users to take advantage of the performance capabilities of MSI's new AIO system, without having to worry about space. Also, thanks to a VESA standard wall mount, the AP1900 can be installed in almost any place available in the work area, consequently minimizing the space required on a user's desk.
As far as technical specifications go, the new arrival in the nettop market is based on the same Intel Atom N270 processor that is featured across most netbooks and nettops on the market. Unfortunately, the chipset on the NetOn AP1900 is still Intel's 945GSE, coupled with the ICH7-M southbridge, which means that the graphics controller powering the 18.5-inch LCD is the not-so-praised GMA950. A better choice for MSI's NetOn AP1900 might have been NVIDIA's new Ion platform, already known for its high-end graphics potential.
Aside from that, MSI's new nettop comes with support for up to 2GB of DDR2 memory, 2 HD Audio-capable speakers, integrated 1.3MP webcam, Gigabit LAN, Modem, 802.11 b/g wireless connectivity, 4-in-1 card reader, 3 USB 2.0 ports, a 160GB SATA hard drive and a DVD Super-Multi optical drive.
The PC vendor is yet to detail the pricing and availability of the new Atom-powered NetOn Ap1900 all-in-one nettop computer system.
