Taiwanese manufacturer MSI has recently updated its laptop offering with the introduction of a new EX460 model, specifically designed to meet the requirements of business users and entertainment enthusiasts. The system itself is featured with a 14-inch display, Intel's latest Core 2 Duo processors and discrete graphics cards from
AMD's ATI Radeon GPUs. The laptop is built inside a simple yet practical black chassis and is to provide users with support for some of the widely used applications.
According to the technical specification sheet, the new laptop from MSI is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, coupled with up to 4GB of DDR2 800MHz memory and an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 graphics processing unit. The system is based on the SIS 672DX/SIS 968 chipset platform and has been equipped with a 14-inch HD-Ready (1366 x 768) LED Backlight display.
Additional features include the 1.3M webcam, support for up to 500GB of storage space, on a traditional 2.5-inch hard disk drive, wireless 802.11 b/g/n and optional Bluetooth connectivity, 4-in-1 media card reader and a choice for a Super-Multi DVD or a Blu-Ray optical drive. As far as connectivity goes, the laptop will provide users with 3 USB 2.0 ports, 1 RJ-45 Ethernet LAN port, D-SUB for external display and mic-in and headphone out.
The 14-inch laptop can be equipped with either a 6-cell or a 9-cell battery pack, and according to MSI the system weighs in at just 2kg, when equipped with the 6-cell battery. Other than that, users will be able to take advantage of the company’s EDS ergonomic keyboard featuring 87 keys and a unique curved surface and membrane. According to the manufacturer, the new keys are 51% larger, compared to those on traditional notebooks.
Unfortunately, MSI hasn't delivered any details regarding the pricing and availability of its new EX460 laptop.
