While fellow Taiwanese competitor ASUSTek is busy promoting its latest Eee PC netbook, the stylish and good-looking S101, Micro-Star International has just updated its notebook offering with a new portable computer system designed with entertainment in mind. The new Centrino2-enabled Bravo EX620 notebook comes with Cinema Pro Technology, and boasts a 16-inch WSXGA LCD screen ready to offer you a high-quality video experience.
Now, when it comes to entertainment-oriented notebooks, most of the recently released portable systems are bound to sport a discrete graphics card, which is also the case with the new Bravo EX620 notebook from MSI, which has been equipped with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 graphics card for a better video quality. The discrete graphics, featuring 256MB of DDR2 memory and coupled with the 16-inch display should make for an impressive visual experience, when playing an HD video.
Since we’re on the topic of High Definition, the EX620 has also been “blessed” with an optional Blu-Ray optical drive, something which almost every other entertainment notebook shouldn't go without. Aside from that, you will also get generous storage with a 320GB SATA hard drive and a hefty 4GB of DDR2 memory, to go along with that Windows Vista operating system.
Other technical specifications include an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, wireless 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth V2.0 + optional EDR connectivity, in addition to Gigabit Ethernet, for a faster Internet connection. There's also a built-in 4-in-1 card reader, three USB 2.0 ports, D-Sub and e-SATA ports. Regarding battery options, users will be able to choose between a 6-cell and a 9-cell battery, but according to the company, equipped with the 9-cell one, the Bravo EX620 weighs 2.7kg.
If you are wondering what the Cinema Pro Technology is for, then you should know that it allows you to switch between Standard Mode to Movie Mode with just a simple touch of a button. This will enable a higher quality both on the screen and in sound, as the Dolby sound will be activated.
Unfortunately, as of now, the company hasn't detailed the new notebook's pricing and availability.
