14 DAY TRIAL // We're sure that some people will disagree with the claims Micro-Star International has made about its latest gaming notebook, silently or otherwise, but we'll admit that MSI can, at least, back them up.
And by that we mean that MSI does have proof that the GS70 Stealth gaming notebook could very well be the thinnest and lightest mobile powerhouse yet.
It measures 21.8 millimeters (0.85 inches) in thickness and weighs 2.65 kilograms / 5.84 pounds.
Obviously, a fourth-generation Intel Core-series central processing unit is at the heart of the system, backed by a solid amount of RAM (up to 16 GB DDR3-1600).
The Core i7 processor also doesn't have to deal with all the graphics tasks alone. There's a GeForce GTX 765M for that (2 GB GDDR5).
Since we're on the subject, MSI's 17.3-inch GS70 Stealth notebook has an anti-glare coating, a pair of SSDs for storage (RAID+ 2.5 configuration), a SteelSeries, full color backlit keyboard, four USB 3.0 ports, mic/headphone jacks, and three video outputs (two mini DisplayPort, one HDMI 1.4).
Furthermore, the gaming system possesses Killer Doubleshot LAN/WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, a SD(XC/HC) / MMC card slot, high-end audio (Audio Boost /Sound Blaster Cinema), and 2.1 channel speakers.
All the hardware, from the smallest chip to the 1920 x 1080 pixels display (there is a 1600 x 900 pixel option apparently) is run by the Microsoft Windows 8 operating system.
“MSI not only continues to create top-of-the-line gaming notebooks, we also listened to our customers' calls for both portability and performance,” said Eric Kuo, associate vice president for global sales, MSI Notebook.
“This notebook is relatively thinner and lighter than other similarly powerful machines, and we have also strengthened the market leading features exclusively available with MSI notebooks.”
Sadly, MSI didn't include pricing and availability details in its official press release. Presumably, retailers will expose that information soon.
