They are pretty much identical really, save for their screen sizes

Since school is about to start again, a new wave of every sort of PC and consumer electronic has come. Micro-Star International is in the thick of it, having launched two distinct gaming notebooks.

Although calling them different notebooks is only going to fly because they do, in fact, have different screen sizes.

The GP60 measures 15.6 inches in diagonal, while the GP70 has an LCD screen of 17.3 inches.

All the other hardware components are the same though, from the available CPU options to the discrete graphics card.

That's right, like any self-respecting, high-end notebooks, the two newcomers don't settle for the iGPs in the Intel CPUs. But we're getting ahead of ourselves.

First off, the central processor belongs to the fourth-generation Core-series, and can be a Core i5 or Core i7 unit.

Up to 16 GB of DDR3-1600 memory back it up, installed through two DIMM slots.

Meanwhile, one HDD provides one TB of storage space or more. There can even be hybrid drives, with 1 TB HDD storage and 25 GB solid state storage on top of that.

Hybrid HDDs are good because they have lots of capacity but hold the OS and frequently used files on the SSD part, boosting performance a great deal.

Moving on, the video card is a discrete NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M, with 2 GB of DDR3 memory. Not the best mobile card ever, but definitely a few notches above the HD graphics in the CPU.

Other specifications include a Steelseries keyboard, a BD Combo / DVD Super Multi optical drive, USB 2.0/3.0 ports, a card reader, VGA/HDMI 1.4 outputs, audio jacks, 2 channel speakers (Audio Boost /Sound Blaster Cinema), and an HD webcam.

As for the displays, they can have a resolution of 1366 x 768 / 1920 x 1080 pixels (GP60) or 1600 x 900 / 1920 x 1080 pixels (GP70). Sadly, the prices of the two newcomers aren't known.
