Now that September has signaled the start of the back-to-school season, MSI decided it would cause noticeable waves on the laptop market, so it brought out no less than four new F series mobile PCs, the FX400, FX600, FX700, and FR600.

The new devices are aimed at fashion-conscious users and use black finish with a brilliant chrome-plated MSI logo set in the center of the cover.

They utilize high-performance Intel Core i5 central processing units, which benefit from the dynamic overclocking capabilities of the Turbo Boost technology.

Additionally, the laptops come with a pair of DDR3 memory slots, as well as the NVIDIA GeForce GT 325M discrete graphics card, whose memory capacity is of 1GB (DDR3).

Furthermore, in order to automatically switch between the integrated and discrete graphics, MSI implemented its proprietary GPU Boost technology.

Basically, the laptops will use the Intel GMA HD for basic tasks, reserving the more power-hungry NVIDIA GPU for multimedia.

Other specifications of the newcomers include hard drives of 250GB to 500GB, 0.3 megapixel webcams (1.3 megapixel on the FX400) and HDMI outputs, for media streaming.

“The innovations that characterize the F-Series notebooks, which range in size from 14″ to 17″, are not limited to fashionable exteriors; rather, they also offer the user an awesome multimedia experience,” said Mr. Tony Yang, Managing Director of MSI India.

“MSI worked in close collaboration with internationally renowned sound system experts from Dynaudio and THX to design the F-Series notebooks so that they would be both powerful and offer amazing sound,” he added.

As a bonus, MSI threw in the WiDi functionality, which allows the machines to wirelessly stream videos and other media to TVs.

The MSI F series of mobile computers have prices ranging between Rs. 37,000 to Rs. 53,000. They should start shipping in India sometime this month.
