Stylish, powerful and environmentally friendly are traits that have begun to be seen in the largest part of today's laptop releases, as companies are developing better and newer technologies. Adding to MSI's Classic laptop family are the 15.6-inch and the 17.3-inch notebook computers CX605 and CX705, both built with video and audio performance, as well as wear-resistant color film print, a “timeless cross hatch design,” as well as 45-degree beveled edges.
The two laptops are light, with the 15.6-inch CX605 weighing 2.5 kg, whereas the 17.3-inch CX705 is slightly heavier, at almost 2kg. Both products use ATI Radeon HD 5470 discrete graphics cards with 1GB DDR3. Crisp images and sharp colors can be very well rendered on the cinema-class 16:9 ratio LED screens with high resolutions and display visibility extended by 14%. More specifically, maximum resolutions are of 1366x768 pixels for the CX605 and of 1600x900 for the CX705.
Specifications of the two notebook PCs include Core 2 Duo CPUs, DDR2 memory at 667/800 MHz, SATA HDDs with storage capacities of 250GB, 320GB or 500GB, as well as Gigabit Ethernet, WiFi, Bluetooth, HDMI output, a 1.3-megapixel webcam and a six-cell battery. In addition, the laptops feature the ECO Engine power-saving technology, which enables the selection between five self-explanatory power-management levels. These are Video Game, Film, Presentation, Word Processing, and Turbo Battery.
Further features of the two devices include a chiclet keyboard, a 4-in-1 card reader, three USB ports, two speakers and a sub-woofer, headphone out and a Kensington lock port.
“MSI Director of Marketing Sam Chern points out that the CX605 and CX705 come with ATI Radeon HD 5470 discrete graphics card for ultimate video performance. In addition, these models boast the double advantage of both large screens and light weight—the 15.6" CX605 is a mere 2.5kg, while the 17.3" CX705 tips the scales as less than 3kg. Highly portable with MSI's fashionably classic 'cross-hatch' design, these laptops are ideal for film viewing,” the press release noted.
