Micro-Star International figured it may as well release a new mobile computer, but also appears to have put quite the effort into what it describes in its official announcement as a PC with a 'heart of a lion.”

While it launched its desktop cards on after another, and with time gaps in between, NVIDIA released it mobile graphics lineup more or less all at once.

As such, computer makers have had more than enough time to come up with notebooks equipped with one of the GeForce 400M series discrete graphics.

One of the most recent such laptops was just announced by MSI and bears the name of FX603.

Essentially, it is a 15.5-inch laptop powered by an Intel Core i3 or Core i5 central processing unit.

The selected CPU is backed up by up to 8 GB of RAM and paired with the GeForce GT 425M graphics card.

This discrete GPU has 1 GB of memory and control over the display, whose native resolution is of 1,366 x 768 pixels, HD-ready that is.

Additionally, the switch between the discrete and integrated graphics is done automatically, via the company's own GPU Boost technology.

The system also boasts a hard disk drive with an internal capacity of 320 GB, 500 GB or 640 GB, plus a DVD writer.

Furthermore, MSI threw in the full range of connectivity and I/O options, the list including not only Gigabit Ethernet and 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, but also Bluetooth 2.1, a 5-in-1 card reader, a 720p webcam, a 4-channel speaker system and even two USB 3.0 connectors, in addition to an USB 2.0 port.

Other specifications include the TDE (Turbo Drive Engine) technology and the Windows 7 Home Premium.

Unfortunately, while the press release was full of technical details, it did not offer anything in the way of pricing and availability.
