It would appear that Micro-Star International is quite genuinely bent on filling the market with high-end solutions, having even decided to call upon the resources of other companies, in this case Bigfoot Networks.

Since CES 2011 is just around the corner, it is not surprising to see or hear that high-profile hardware makers are paying special attention to the gaming and enthusiast markets.

MSI itself recently proved, albeit indirectly, how far it is willing to go to achieve its purpose of becoming owner of the motherload of all P67 motherboards.

Putting together platforms with 8 PCI Express x16 slots is not all that the outfit has been doing, however.

In fact, MSI intends to give quite a few of its motherboards, at least newer ones, the ability to perform better than usual online.

Some consumers might know that Bigfoot Networks released a PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet network card, known as Killer 2100, back in May.

It is this very product that MSI has reportedly decided to start bundling with some of its stronger motherboards.

“MSI mainboards with Military Class components provide a great backbone for any gaming system and the Killer 2100 network card is a way to improve performance and get one step ahead of the competition,” stated Andy Tung, VP of MSI USA. “We are pleased to be working with MSI,” said Michael Howse, CEO of Bigfoot Networks.

“The Killer 2100 gaming network card is a perfect complement to the MSI Big Bang family of mainboard solutions that will give gamers a competitive edge in online play.”

In addition to just offering this sort of product bundles, Micro-Star International may also work to integrated the Killer NIC directly into some of its platforms, which would not be too different from how it was the first to use LucidLogix' HydraLogix chips.
