For decades, the many existing PC makers have done their best to outdo their competitors through aggressive pricing, better performance and special, exclusive features meant to give them an edge. This led to the creation of technologies that prolong lifespan, increase energy efficiency and add aesthetic value. Not long ago, AMD entered the laptop front with a number of mobile CPUs, which meant that PC makers could finally see some variety.

MSI was quick to adopt the fresh AMD CPUs and show off laptops based on them, such as the Wind U250 Ultrathin. Now, the same company has unveiled the CX410, the newest addition to the Classic series. The CX410 has an AMD Athlon II Dual-core processor at its heart. The official announcement doesn't say exactly what chip is used, which may imply that there is a choice between multiple processors.

Regardless of that, the core is paired with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 545v graphics card with 512MB of GDDR3 VRAM. 2 memory slots allow for a fair amount of DDR3-1066 memory to be implemented, though the exact upper limit is not specified. As for storage, a 2.5-inch SATA HDD can provide 250GB, 320GB or 500GB of space. Other specifications of the MSI CX410 include a 14-inch WXGA 16:9 display with a native resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels, a 4-in-1 card reader, LAN, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, three USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI output an a 0.3-megapixel webcam.

There are, of course, a pair of integrated speakers and audio jacks as well. Finally, the entire machine measures 344.4(W) x 221(D) x 13.5~28(H) mm and weighs 2.2 kg. It should also be noted that this product boasts MSI's exclusive 45-degree beveled construction and the Eco Engine power saving technology, which adjusts power usage according to five preset modes (Gaming, Movie, Presentation, Office, and Turbo Battery). Unfortunately, pricing and availability details are unknown.
