Micro-Star International, like all other suppliers of PCs, has multiple sorts of notebooks, including high-end, mid-end and low-end, and it looks like the mainstream level now got a little better supplied.

Since there aren't any more chipset issues to cause problems, notebooks based on the Sandy bridge processor series are getting launched and sold on schedule, for the most part.

MSI's CX640 and CR640 have, thus, become the subject of a press release now that sales have kicked off in North America.

The machines are mainstream notebooks based on the Core i3-2310M processor (2.1 GHz, 3 MB Cache).

The CPU is paired with an NVIDIA 500 Series discrete graphics solution (GeForce GT 520M) or no extra GPU, leaving everything to the integrated Intel HD 3000.

Their displays are HD panels (1,366 x 768 pixels) with diagonals of 15.6 inches, while 4 GB of RAM complement the processors.

There is also a HDD of 500 GB on each model, along with Gigabit LAN, Built-in 802.11b/g/n WLAN, multi-card readers and USB 3.0 ports, among other things.

“We listen very carefully to our customers, and we know that anticipating and addressing their needs is critical to success in the PC industry,” noted Andy Tung, vice president of sales for MSI US.

“The CX640 and CR640 models deliver the standard elements people look for in a PC – performance, price, features and design – however, we also go a step further. These units incorporate features that respond to people’s real-life concerns: data backup, hard drive protection, etc. And we believe consumers will respond to this consideration.”

It should probably be noted that the MSI Time Stamp technology can perform one-touch backup and restore tasks by a simple press of the Time Stamp button.

The Fast Boot technology is also present, meaning that the units can power up about twice as fast as they otherwise would. The listings can be found here.
