With the holiday season coming in fast, Micro-Star International decided to start releasing new products ahead of time, this once issuing a press release to announce a laptop with support for 3D.

The new laptop that the company put together has a 15.6-inch LED-backlit liquid crystal display (LCD) with a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

This obviously means that the laptop has full support for 3D, though, of course, a pair of 3D glasses will have to be worn when using this display mode.

At the heart of the system lies an Intel central processing unit (CPU), which can be either a Core i3 or Core i5.

Whichever CPU is selected is backed up by a solid amount of memory, up to 8 GB to be exact, while the actual video capabilities are provided by the AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5470, with 1 GB of memory.

Additionally, storage space is brought to the mix by a hard disk drive (HDD) whose internal capacity can be of 320 GB, 500 GB or 640 GB.

There is also a DVD writer, as well as the full range of connectivity and I/O options that one may expect from such a device.

MSI was sure to implement not only Gigabit Ethernet, but also WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, a 4-in-1 card reader and a 1.3 megapixel webcam.

Finally, all of the hardware is kept operational by a 6-cell battery whose life varied according to, among other things, whether or not the GPU boost technology is used to switch back to the integrated CPU graphics when no massive video prowess is needed.

As one would expect, the laptop is pre-loaded with the Windows 7 Home Premium and has some extra assets, like the Eco Engine technology and a chiclet keyboard.

Unfortunately, the official announcement did not include any sort of pricing details.
