Micro-Star International has once again broken cover in order to expand its line of laptops, this time choosing the AMD mobile platform in the creation of the newest Classic Series model, the CX413.
Though Intel's Calpella and Atom platforms are still in control of the larger part of the laptop market, AMD appears to be steadily gaining ground.
As proof of this, the newest mobile PC developed by MSI is based on the AMD Danube platform, the Athlon II P320 CPU to be exact.
This processor has a clock speed of 2.1 GHz and is paired with the Mobility Radeon HD 5470 discrete graphics card, which has 512MB of memory.
The machine also features DDR3 Ram (amount is unspecified), as well as a hard drive whose capacity can be of 250 GB, 320 GB or 500 GB.
What's more, the product boasts a cinema-class LED display whose aspect ratio is of 16:9 and which features “rich colors and a clear, bright picture anytime, anywhere.”
Needless to say, MSI threw in the full range of obligatory connectivity and I/O options, such as Gigabit Ethernet, a 4-in-1 card reader, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, and Bluetooth 2.1.
What's more, the notebook comes with a DVD writer, for optical storage but also useful when playing high-quality videos.
Finally, the PC supplier put in a HDMI output, allowing multimedia to be streamed to auxiliary displays, along with three USB 2.0 ports and two HD Audio speakers.
All of these components, along with a 6-cell battery, are crammed inside a black-matte enclosure with metal touchpad buttons.
Unfortunately, the IT player did not provide any sort of information on the prices and availability of the machine.
“This machine has it all - an aesthetically pleasing exterior, outstanding multimedia performance, and exceptionally long battery life. It's your best choice for reasonably priced mobile multimedia entertainment,” states the press release.
