MSI has performed some tests using the SPECviewperf11 OpenGL Benchmark test on its latest GT70 2OK and GT60 2OK – 3k IPS Edition CAD laptops and the results show their graphics cards are more efficient than those found in desktop computers.

The benchmarks showed that the Quadro K3100M graphics found in the laptops were more efficient than the Quadro 5000 card found in desktops, while running Solidworks. The proven efficiency amounts to 150% better results.
MSI notes that this is the first time mobile graphics performance has been shown to surpass that of a desktop computer.
The latest NVIDIA Kepler GPU Quadro K3100 graphics card has 738 cores and works in concert with Intel’s 4th gen Core i7 processor and Windows 8 Pro / Windows 7 to provide the best performance for software like SiemensNX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Autodesk 3Ds Max, Maya and Adobe Premier Pro.
MSI’s CAD laptops can also be paired with up to 4 HD monitors to provide an advanced working environment for hardcore multitasking professionals.
