It would seem that MSI is quite keen on maintaining its status in the portable gaming solutions' segment, since the notebook manufacturer has just announced yet another addition to its mobile lineup targeting gamers, the GE603 model, which combines an Intel Core i5 CPU with NVIDIA's GeForce GT 425M discrete graphics card.

In terms of CPU, users will be able to choose between the Intel Core i5-460M Processor, Intel Core i5-450M Processor, Intel Core i5-430M Processor, all of these options, however, providing access to the Intel Turbo Boost and Intel Hyper-Threading technologies.

The portable gaming system supports up to 8GB of DDR3-1066MHz memory, a choice of 320, 500 or 640GB HDDs, and also a DVD SuperMulti optical disk drive unit.

Moving on to the graphics side, the MSI GE603 comes equipped, as mentioned before, with an NVIDIA GeForce GT 425M -1GB graphics unit, that provides the necessary pixels for the 15.6-inch, HD, LED backlit, 16:9 display.

The MSI notebook also fares pretty well in terms of connectivity, the system incorporating 4x USB 2.0 ports, 1x Express Card, 5-in-1 card reader, 802.11 b/g/n WLAN, Bluetooth v2.1 + EDR and 1x Gigabit LAN port.

Also notable is the presence of the HD webcam module, capable of recording 720p videos at 30 fps.

Moreover, the GE603 is equipped with SRS Premium Sound which boasts powerful processing capabilities and supports 7.1 channel output, while also coming with MSI’s own ECO engine power saving technology which allows you to select from among five power management levels—Video Game, Film, Presentation, Word Processing, and Turbo Battery, at the touch of a button.

As expected from MSI, no pricing and/or availability details regarding the new gaming notebook have been provided thus far.
