14 DAY TRIAL // The 3D all-in-one desktop PC is not the only product from the Wind Top lineup that Micro-Star International is showcasing at this year's CeBIT show in Hanover, Germany. In addition to its Big Bang Fuzion, which it even outfitted with both NVIDIA and ATI cards from the Lightning series for a demonstration, MSI has also put on display another high-performance AiO that runs the Windows 7 Home Premium operating system.
In order to make sure that consumers won't soon feel the relentless urge to upgrade their system, or buy another one because it can no longer keep up with the current technology, the company gave its machine top-end features. The core of the PC is an Intel Core i5 650, with a clock frequency of 3.2GHz, or a Core i7 860s with 2.53GHz.
The processor is supported by 4GB of DDR3 memory and the total storage space amounts to the 1TB provided by an SATA2 hard disk drive. In addition, the all-in-one boasts USB 3.0 connectivity, so that high transfer rates may be possible for external storage drives as well.
In addition to high transfer speeds for storage, through the SuperSpeed USB 3.0 standard support, MSI also did its best to make sure that graphically intensive tasks ran smoothly. As such, it built into its AiO the ATI Radeon HD 5730 card, which has 1GB GDDR3 memory and, of course, the fabled support for DirectX 11 graphics.
The product also comes with a large, 23.6-inch Full-HD widescreen display with multitouch support, so that all the features of Windows 7, including intuitive touch input tracking, may be taken advantage of in full. The machine even has HDMI input, which allows it to display video from another source, and also a VGA output.
Unfortunately, pricing and availability details have not been disclosed, although the Wind Top AE2420 will likely not come cheap.
