It appears that an update, of sorts, was made on a certain motherboard that Micro-Star International showed off at Computex but did not, until now, make its pricing details known.

Micro-Star International was just one of many motherboard makers that revealed new platform during this year's Computex trade show.

The 970A-G45 was one of the motherboards on display at its booth, but only now have some actual press shots and pricing details surfaced.

Apparently, the ATX platform will not take long to arrive in stores, set to sell for about 82 Euro in Europe, the equivalent of $146. This makes it somewhat expensive, although the feature set isn't really that large.

In addition to the two PCI Express x16 ports (for add-in video cards), one of which works at x4, and two PCI Express x1 slots, there are a pair of legacy PCI slots.

The company also put in two USB 3.0 ports (besides six USB 2.0 ones), a PS/2 port, Gigabit Ethernet, 7.1 channel audio with optical S/PDIF and a serial port, plus the expected six SATA 6.0 Gbps connectors, for storage.

Finally, the MSI 970A-G45 comes with a simple 4+1 PWM design. All in all, this is a fairly basic desktop platform, at least compared to Intel boards with similar price points.

Then again, the majority of end-users don't really have cause to take full advantage of each and every extra perk that a motherboard may or may not be designed with, since Enthusiasts are the only ones known to have a passion for extensive customization and experimentation.

So-called online listings of the product already exist, although sales have yet to start. Either way, it will be interesting to see just how well the market treats this product, considering that, despite the modest feature pack, it is one of, if not the most expensive AMD 970 chipset board in existence.
