Taipei, Taiwan-based MSI has certainly made a name for itself in the market for high-end graphics cards and motherboards, with the company having launched a series of new cards that take performance to a whole new level. One of its most recent releases comes in the form of an NVIDIA GT200-based graphics card that is the company's first to be equipped with the SuperPipe technology.
The new N285GTX SuperPipe has been specifically designed to combine the performance capabilities of NVIDIA's highest-performance single-GPU card with the “SuperPipe” and “Twin Frozr” thermal design, enabling a higher level of performance and thermal efficiency.

MSI has enabled the new cooling solution on two of its latest graphics cards, both of which are equipped with a GTX 285 GPU. The basic model, dubbed N285GTX SuperPipe has a clock speed of 648MHz and comes with 1GB of GDDR3 512-bit memory clocked at 2484MHz. On the other side, there's the N285GTX SuperPipe OC, a factory overclocked version of the aforementioned card that offers a core speed of 680Mhz. This card also comes with 1GB of GDDR3 512-bit memory, which has been clocked to a round number of 2500MHz.

According to MSI, the use of the SuperPipe technology has enabled a 90 percent improvement in thermal efficiency over traditional heatpipe solutions. That is because the SuperPipe technology has been designed to use 8mm thick heatpipes, which are 60 percent thicker than traditional pipes. In addition to that, the N285GTX is equipped with the Twin Frozr dual-fan thermal design, which further increases the cooling factor over the GPU.

Aside from the aforementioned details these two GeForce GTX285 graphics accelerators also incorporate NVIDIA's own technologies, including the support for PhysX, SLI or CUDA, meant to further enhance the graphics performance of the cards. Unfortunately, MSI hasn't unveiled any details regarding the pricing or availability of these cards, but they should become available soon.
