The manhunt for MMA fighter War Machine, real name Jon Koppenhaver, ended over the weekend, when he was caught at a hotel in Simi Valley after more than one week on the run from police after he brutally attacked estranged girlfriend Christy Mack and put her in the hospital.

As the video below confirms, he would have probably managed to continue off the grid for a while longer if he hadn’t been spotted beating up another woman, in the parking lot of the hotel.

The Friday before last, War Machine went to Mack’s Las Vegas home, where he found her in the company of another man, presumed to be her boyfriend. He beat them both and also tried to rape her.

In a chilling statement describing the injuries sustained, Mack vouches she was in absolute fear for her life because War Machine had given strong indications that he had no plans to let her live after that. So, when he went in the kitchen to look for a sharp knife, she ran through the back door and went to the neighbors to seek help, thus saving her life.

For over a week afterwards, War Machine was on the run but, believe it or not, he continued to post to Twitter to stress that he was not the one responsible for what happened. He claimed that he swung by Mack’s place because he wanted to propose to her and that he was attacked out of the blue by her and her male friend.

Basically, War Machine tried to play the victim and, this way, hoping for a way to justify his actions. He even tried to play the police brutality card, also on Twitter.

As it turns out, while he was on the run, he “somehow” managed to forget about the heartbreak Mack’s betrayal had caused him, because he was with another woman. And he applied to her the same treatment he gave his ex, other guests at the hotel told KTLA.

In fact, he would not have been caught if he hadn’t been seen slapping, shoving and pulling the hair of the woman, described as “petite” by the eyewitness. She was trying to “calm him down” but he only became more irritated. Afraid for her safety, the eyewitness called the cops.

Mack is still in hospital, recovering from the beating War Machine put on her. A fundraiser has been set up to help her fix the damage to her face when she gets out, and she has plans to return to her job, that of an adult actress.

The identity of the “petite woman” whom War Machine had checked in with at the hotel, and whom he also mistreated, has not been revealed to the press.
