Will actually be available in two models, with one or three USB ports

As the Universal Serial Bus really starts owning up to its name, technology really gets more and more intercompatible, and MIMO just made its latest contribution to that effect.

What MIMO launched, or at least formally unveiled, is the Magic Touch Monitor, or monitors.

The product isn't available yet, that will happen only next month (January 2012), around the middle or so.

As such, there are chances that a demonstration will be made during CES 2012.

Even if that doesn't happen, though, whatever information people need to know about it, or them, is already available anyway.

The Magic Touch monitor will have two versions, one with a single USB 2.0 port and another with three (two for peripherals) and an AC adapter for recharging/enabling more power-hungry USB devices. The native resolution is 1,024 x 600 pixels.

Only one port is actually required for operation, able to relay both the display signals and provide the necessary power.

Measuring 10.1 inches definitely helps, since it would have been tricky to actually make a bigger model and still only need one USB plug.

Also, this is an auxiliary panel that owners are supposed to be able to carry around if they so wish, so a larger size wouldn't have exactly been practical.

Both consumers and business users may find some use for either of the two items, the latter more than the former.

Due to its small size, it can help minimize the clutter on a desk or offload business applications, like Outlook, Excel, Word, Skype etc.

Other than that, social networking is something it can take care of, thanks to its status as peripheral monitor.

Online auctions, stock tracking tools, iTunes, media players, etc., can be run on it, while using the main, large monitor for other things

The standard Mimo Magic Touch costs $299.99 (222.33 Euro) while the Mimo Magic Touch Deluxe will ship for $329.99 (244.56 Euro).
