MCNLive "Leuven"

MCNLive is a Mandriva-based live CD developed by MandrivaClub in the Netherlands.

Here is the official release announcement: "I am glad to announce a new edition of MCNLive, code name Leuven. Some highlights: 2.6.14 Mandriva Kernel with updated UnionFS and SquashFS. Desktop environment: KDE 3.5.2. Office Suite: KOffice 1.5, Open Document Format, Firefox 1.5.0.2, Music, Video and Image applications with all common codecs, Internet and networking applications for all your needs. All this on less than 350 MB. And as you know MCNLive, it is desktop oriented and easy to use. Look at the full list (rpm-list file on the download mirrors) of installed packages to discover the not so obvious tools ;-) A graphical wizard is included to put MCNLive on a USB Stick to run it in LiveUSB mode. Wireless with ndiswrapper. Thanks to the Mandriva developers in Paris the auto-ejecting of the CD is working again.

Besides English and Dutch localization you can switch on-the-fly to Frisian! Many thanks to the Frisian translation team at kde.nl.

New bootcodes for Laptop widescreen resolutions, 1280x800, 1440x900, 1680x1050. - Install live additional software, free Mandriva sources are preconfigured. MCNLive-Leuven is based on Mandriva Linux 2006 and enriched with upgrades."

You may wonder what "Leuven" is? Leuven is a cute little town in Belgium where one of MCNLive Team members lives.
