"We Belong Together" (Island) is the Billboard Hot 100 leader for a 10th weeke. This is the fifth single released in the last years to be No. 1 for 10 weeks or longer, and is Carey's second double-digit chart-topper, according to Reuters.

Mariah, who has come back in the media spotlight with a new image and a highly popular album, was preceded in this position by Gwen Stefani, with her "Hollaback Girl".

Carey's single "We Belong Together" topped the Hot R&B/ Hip-Hop Songs chart for 11 weeks and currently tops the Ringtones chart for the second straight week, as well.

The diva will perform alongside The Killers at MTV Video Music Awards on August 28th, where they will present "two of the most sensational show-stopping performances for this year's VMAs."

Mariah Carey's successful single 'We Belong Together' has been nominated in the Best Female Video and Best R&B Video categories, while The Killers 'Mr. Brightside' has earned them four MTV VMA nominations - Best Group Video, Best Rock Video, Best New Artist In A Video and Best Art Direction In A Video.
