In recent days we have seen both CyberPower and Origin intro thin and light gaming notebooks with powerful specifications that give a new dimension to the whole concept of gaming on the go.

Now MAINGEAR joins the club by introducing the all-new Pulse 15 gaming laptop. You might be familiar with the company’s other offerings, which include the Pulse 14 and Pulse 17, and now here comes MAINGEAR’s latest 15-incher.

The company says that this is the thinnest 15-inch laptop they have launched to date, but the product isn’t compared against similar offerings coming from other companies.

MAINGEAR says that the device is not only perfect for gaming, but it is also quite capable of catering to the needs of creative professionals and business users alike.

The neat thing is that customers get to play creative and have multiple options of customizing the look their notebook will arrive with.

But before we give you an aesthetic tour, let’s talk about the specifications the new Pulse 15 will arrive with. For starters, MAINGEAR is throwing in a worthy 3K IPS wide-view display, which translates into the laptop bringing forth a resolution of 2880 x 1620 pixels, which is something creative professionals will certainly appreciate.

Computing-wise, everything is kept alive by a powerful Intel Core i74710HQ mobile processor clocked at 2.5GHz with burst speeds going as far as 3.5GHz with Turbo Boost. The processor works side by side with the high-end NVIDIA GeForce GTX 870M with 3GB of video memory.

This is exactly the same configuration as the Origin EVO15-S and CyberPower Zeusbook Edge X6 notebooks unveiled a few days ago. The difference is mostly visible in the display department, where the CyberPower offers only HD resolution, while the EVO15-S has the same standard.

The new laptop comes equipped with Killer E2200 LAN and Intel 802.11ac wireless but also with one HDMI out, 4 USB 3.0 ports, 2 mini display ports, and 1RJ-45 LAN.

The Pulse 15 is being offered with what’s being called genuine Windows 8 Home, Professional, or of the Ultimate 64-bit variety.

It’s also important to note that MAINGEAR’s Pulse 15 laptop takes advantage of a dual-fan cooling solution that will supposedly adjust the airflow according to the task you’re performing on it and will maintain the overall system always cool.

And now for the fun part, which we’re certain creative professionals will appreciate. Adopters of the Pulse 15 are invited to choose from MAINGEAR’s new 2015 custom pallet in matte auto paint finish and customize the way their laptop will look like.

If all we detailed so far sounds good to you, you should know that the MAINGEAR Pulse 15 won’t come cheap and will become available with a starting price of $2,199 / €1,633.
