Advanced Tech Communications, a company based in Malaysia, has just introduced the MAGIC W3, which seems to be world's first Windows 7 “pocketable” computer with voice call capabilities.

The company is also known for launching the first convergent multimedia device, the M.A.G.I.C. (Mobile Advanced Global Integrated Communicator) Shiv1, which combines laptop computer traits with mobile phone features. The device was showcased at the 2009 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

MAGIC W3 is a 4.8-inch Windows 7 microcomputer featuring integrated quad band GSM and 3.5G HSDPA capabilities.

The device's voice features are powered by a proprietary MAGIC Telephony Touch UI and integrated within the Windows 7 environment.

According to the manufacturer, MAGIC W3's integrated voice capability enables the device to wake from standby sleep when an incoming voice call or SMS is detected.

The touchscreen features a native WVGA 800 x 480 pixels resolution plus support for W/SVGA 800 x 600 and 1024 x 600 pixels interpolated resolutions.

The device seems to be pretty powerful as it embeds an Intel Atom Z530 1.6 GHz processor, 1GB DDR2 memory and a 32 GB SSD.

In terms of connectivity, MAGIC W3 comes with Wi-Fi b/g, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR support, as well as built-in GPS receiver. The device's 3200 mAh battery hasn't been rated by the manufacturer yet.

Lots of ports and slots have been stuffed on all sides of the W3: mini HDMI, mini USB, micro SD, SIM card slot, 3.5mm audio jack.

Despite the fact that it has been tagged as a microcomputer, MAGIC W3 seems to be very light at only 260g battery included.

All the above are crammed in a 141 x 81.5 x 22 mm shell and delivered with Windows 7 Home Premium as the operating system.

There's no word on the price and/or availability yet.
