A few days back, three European lynx kittens born at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo in England decided that it was high time for them to bask in the spotlight and emerged from their den.

Thus, visitors to the zoo got the chance to see them exploring their enclosure, play fighting and enjoying a nap in the grass.

Keepers say that the kittens, named Ruby, Amber and Opal, are growing more adventurous every day and that they are most active at sunrise and sunset.

Since the European lynx is a crepuscular species, this should not come as a surprise.

“All three kittens are doing fantastically well,” caretaker Cliff Tack reportedly told the press.

“Mum kept them well hidden in their den to begin with, but they’re now growing in confidence and becoming a lot more adventurous, especially with the warm weather encouraging them to come out to play,” he added.
