14 DAY TRIAL // We might be the witnesses of an Oscar romance in the making. Two actors that have been nominated this year for the prestigious award are sparking relationship rumors.
Page Six claims that “12 Years a Slave” actress Lupita Nyong'o is getting close to “Dallas Buyers Club” actor Jared Leto. The two were seen enjoying a romantic evening out together at the Crosby Street Hotel, sitting at a table that was said to be “intimate.”
The two are both in New York at the moment, no doubt to attend the numerous events organized for the New York Fashion Week, and apparently took a break to spend some time in the company of one another.
One witness who was at the scene says that “They were huddled at a corner table together looking very close,” which explains the need for a more intimate table. Based on their resounding success, however, it's hard to imagine that they could go anywhere without being spotted.
The relationship rumors gain even more momentum because this isn't the first time these two are seen together. Because they share Oscar nominations as well as increasing popularity, the two have attended more than one award show side by side.
The two were spotted sticking close to each other at the Golden Globes, as well as other events leading up to the Oscars ceremony set to be taking place on March 2.
Another opportunity for them to be together was in the recent Vanity Fair photo shoot, when they posed for the cover of the Hollywood issue along other stars such as Julia Roberts and George Clooney.
The twist in this tale is the fact that Lupita has already been linked to someone else, despite being considered a débutante on the Hollywood film circuit. There were several rumors that she had a fling on set with co-star Ejiofor Chiwetel while filming “12 Years a Slave,” but by all accounts, that fizzled out as soon as filming was completed.
As for Leto, he's been previously linked with a number of ladies in Tinseltown and just about everywhere else, but at the moment he's happily single. Or he may just be giving the impression he is.
