You can now scrap the rumors that casting was complete on the “Star Wars: Episode VII” project, because new reports are surfacing that Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong'o is right now being eyed for an important female role in the sci-fi film.

The “12 Years a Slave” actress has allegedly attended several casting meetings with the producers of “Star Wars,” as well as with director J.J.Abrams for the past month, according to Latino-Review.

These reports claim that Lupita hasn't signed yet, but that it's only a matter of time before she puts her name on the dotted line and thus become a part of the biggest sci-fi franchise in the world.

She is suspected to play the role of a Sith because her character doesn't seem to be tied into the family lines from episodes 4 to 6. When contacted about the possible cast, her reps have denied to comment on the matter by saying “We're not allowed to talk about that,” which only fans the flames that she is in fact in talks for a role.

So far, there has been wide speculation about the casting process of “Star Wars: Episode VII” but, to the best of the media's knowledge, only one part has been confirmed: that of Adam Driver, an actor on “Girls” who is going to take on the role of the infamous villain Darth Vader.
