Lunar: Dragon Song is a console role-playing game for the Nintendo DS developed by Japan Art Media and published by Marvelous Interactive and
Ubisoft in 2005. In addition to being the first game in the Lunar series for the DS, it is also the first original game in the series since Lunar: Walking School in 1995, and the first new Lunar title (excluding remakes) released in North America since Lunar: Eternal Blue for the Sega CD.

As the first traditional CRPG for the system, Lunar: Dragon Song set the standard for the genre on the new hardware, including the use of the mic to issue commands, combat that is set across two screens, and the separation of menus and actual gameplay. It is also the second game in the series not to be translated by Working Designs.

GAMEPLAY HINTS

Switch fighting modes
To change between fighting modes, press R during game play.

Escaping
When trying to escape using the microphone, instead of saying "Escape", just blow into the microphone a little bit. The game picks out the "pe" part of "Escape".

Avoid running
If you run constantly, you will lose HP. Running should only be used for drastic measures.

Faster fights
When fighting monsters in the game, you can speed up the fight by holding L or R. If you hold L the fight will become quicker. If you hold R the fight will become slightly faster than holding L. If you hold L R ,the fight will be very fast.

Items and experience
In order to gain experience after battle, use your stylus to tap the icon of your character. His eyes should now be closed. After defeating enemies, you should see them turn into golden balls. These are your experience points. However, you will not gain any items. If you wish to receive items, tap on your character's face again on the bottom screen with the stylus. His eyes should now be open (Combat mode). After battle, you will receive items, but no experience.

Female Statues
If you see a female statue, walk up to it and press the action button. Your HP points and MP points will be fully recovered.

Blue treasure chests
Blue treasure chests can only be opened once all the enemies on the screen are defeated. Afterwards, once you open the chest, you will recover 30% of your HP and MP. In order to know how many enemies are on the screen, you will see a check on the bottom screen, indicating that the enemy is defeated. Blue chests usually contain armor and weapons.

View enemy stats
To view enemy stats while in battle, press X to view a card that shows their status.
