Hers Design's product is a protoype, for the time being

Probably in the near future, CD stereos are going to become a nice memory. Until then, some brainy designers from Japan have come up with this interesting CD stereo concept that probably is going to revolutionize the CD player.

What's so special about the concept? First of all, the design has part of the spinning CD out of its case, meaning you insert the CD in the device's slot, which is on top of the case, and then, you wait for an ingeniously crafted motor to pull it, and about ? of the disc sticks out of the bottom, just as it continues to spin.

That is, nevertheless, quite a nice and futuristic view in your living room. I am sure you're interested in the designers of this baby, therefore I am going to tell you that Hers Design is to blame for this concept. Who are they? These guys are the same ones that brought the Xbox 360 case design on the market for Microsoft, in partnership with IBM, ATI, Samsung and SiS. Not bad. Not bad at all!

And besides that, the company keeps on offering a wide variety of modern electronic appliances under a cool named brand, Metaphys.

Their device was ingeniously dubbed "Lunacalante" because it lights the CD when spinning it on the inside, and the result is a half-a-moon effect. In case we'll ever get to live on the Moon, this is going to be a smashing success for the home appliances industry over there. But, hey, it won't look that bad in your living-room either.

For now, it's unknown whether this design concept is ever going to see some actual production, since everybody talks about a prototype, but giving these guys' former successful products, chances are quite high.
