Lumia Cyan, the latest update that Microsoft has announced for the Windows Phone 8-based Lumia devices, is currently available for download for more users out there.

The platform has been officially announced as rolling out earlier this week, though only owners of unlocked Lumia 625 and Lumia 925 handsets were able to grab it.

However, it seems that the update is now available for carrier-branded versions of these devices as well in various markets across Europe.

Furthermore, users in Canada claim that their Lumia 925 smartphones on the network of wireless carrier Koodo are also receiving the platform upgrade, despite the fact that no official confirmation on the matter has been provided as of now, as WMPoweruser notes.

Owners of Nokia handsets running under the Windows Phone 8 operating system can check the availability of Lumia Cyan for their specific models on the Nokia support website, where the software is now listed as available at various European carriers.

Unfortunately, only the two aforementioned Lumia models have received the update as of now, and chances are that those who own other Nokia phones might have to wait a bit longer for it to start landing for them as well.

Back in April, Microsoft confirmed that the Windows Phone 8.1 platform would land on all Windows Phone 8 devices, and Lumia Cyan is the official firmware release that brings this OS iteration to Lumia phones out there.

The software will be pushed to all compatible handsets in the series, including those that have already been updated to the Windows Phone 8.1 Developer Preview flavor.

However, due to a series of issues with BitLocker, Microsoft decided to pause the rollout of Lumia Cyan for these phones at the moment, until it finds the problem and fixes it.

Even so, those of you who have updated to Windows Phone 8.1 Developer Preview can still update to the official firmware release now, as long as you revert your handsets to a commercial software version through the Nokia Software Recovery Tool.

Otherwise, you’ll simply have to wait for Microsoft to start rolling the update once again, something that should happen sooner rather than later.

After all, the company has already confirmed that it will make Lumia Cyan and Windows Phone 8.1 available for all Windows Phone 8 Lumias within the next few weeks.

In the meantime, if you own a Nokia phone eligible for the Windows Phone 8.1 update, head over to Nokia’s support website to keep an eye on how the rollout process advances.
