Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia is expected to have its first Windows Phone 8 smartphones made available for purchase starting with October 29th, new reports on the matter suggest.

The company has already confirmed that these devices would hit shelves in various markets around the world starting with November, but it seems that their actual debut will take place a bit sooner.

October 29th was rumored to be the day when Microsoft will officially launch the Windows Phone 8 platform, and Nokia’s Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 are expected to be made available on that day as well.

According to a recent article on Nokia Innovation, we might see other Windows Phone 8 smartphones launched on the very same day, but no specific info on the matter has been provided as of yet.

Moreover, exact details on where these handsets are set to arrive on shelves lack as well, but there’s a great chance that the info refers to the international version of the phones in the most important countries worldwide.

Starting with early November, however, both smartphones should see expanded availability, just as the Finnish handset vendor has already unveiled.

In the United States, for example, Lumia 920 was rumored to arrive at AT&T before the end of October, but new rumors suggest that the carrier aims at launching it on November 2nd.

T-Mobile and Verizon are also expected to launch Windows Phone 8 smartphones starting with November, including Nokia’s new smartphones.

For the time being, however, the possible availability of Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 in October should be taken for what it is, namely a rumor.

Microsoft has yet to provide specifics on the availability of Windows Phone 8, and various handset vendors are expected to announce their own handsets running under the new platform, so stay tuned for more on the matter.
