The process is complicated and requires tearing the handset to pieces

Nokia’s Lumia 900 smartphone is the latest Windows Phone device out there to have had its bootloader unlocked, the latest reports on the matter suggest.

Apparently, while unlocking other Windows Phone devices was a rather easy task, the bootloader inside Lumia 900 posed a series of issues that made the process a bit more difficult than expected.

However, the device has been unlocked, it seems, although using a more complicated method, which involves the use of an ATF Box, which is a physical third-party device for flashing Nokia smartphones, as WPCentral explains.

Users are advised not to try this at home, since the process also involves tearing the handset down, as this is actually a physical bootloader unlock, and not the usual, software unlock that many might have been looking for.
