Nokia Lumia 730, the mid-range smartphone that Microsoft might make official before the end of this year as its Windows Phone 8.1-based selfie phone, has made an appearance in the GFXBench database, it seems.

The handset can be seen there with model number RM-1040, which is new, but which falls in line with the RM-1038 model number previously associated with this smartphone.

In fact, a recent article on nokiapoweruser claims that the new mobile phone version could be the global variant of the Lumia 730, which would explain the different model number.

Three different Lumia 730 iterations have been spotted until now, including RM-1038 and RM-1039, expected to become available for purchase in different markets out there.

Chances are that RM-1038 and RM-1039 will be launched in the United States, and that only RM-1040 will be released internationally, the aforementioned news site claims.

Apparently, this device variant has already received the necessary approvals in Indonesia, which is another indicator that it might be released globally.

Furthermore, Lumia 730 is said to arrive on the market in both single- and dual-SIM variants, although specific info on which markets will receive them is missing at the moment.

For those out of the loop, we should note that Lumia 730 has been rumored recently to arrive on shelves with a 5-megapixel front camera, which should provide users with a great experience when taking selfies and when making video calls while on the go.

The specs list of this device is said to include a 4.7-inch touchscreen display that can boast an FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels), along with a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor.

Moreover, the phone is said to sport 1GB of RAM, along with 8GB of internal memory, complemented by a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes (with support for up to 128GB of additional storage).

On the back, the Lumia 730 should sport an 8-megapixel camera with Zeiss optics, though some reports suggest that it will actually include only a 6.7MP camera.

The mobile phone is also said to be powered by a 2000mAh battery and to include all the usual connectivity capabilities, starting with 4G LTE. It should run under Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 right from the start.

Lumia 730 could become official as soon as the next month, during the IFA 2014 trade fair in Berlin, as Microsoft has already announced plans to reveal a new handset there.

However, with no official confirmation on the phone available as of now, you should take the info above with a grain of salt.
