Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has made available for download a new flavor of the Extras + Info application for its Lumia devices, aimed at delivering some fixes for the flagship Lumia 1520.

At the moment, the Extras + Info app can be downloaded as version 3.4.3.5, and is said to be resolving an issue with the screen of Lumia 1520 being overly sensitive.

Unfortunately, Nokia does not offer specific info on what the latest app release includes, and only mentions a series of general fixes and improvements.

According to WPCentral, however, the flagship smartphone appears to be doing much better following the installation of the aforementioned application.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the aforementioned problem with the handset usually resulted in unintentional taps when trying to swipe through messages, photos and the like.

Basically, this means that, while browsing through content, users ended up opening said messages or photos, which did prove quite inconvenient for many.

Nokia has already acknowledged the issue, announcing that it would push out a software update to resolve it sometime before the end of January.

“Hi. We are working on it. Issue will be fixed with the new SW release available over the air during January 3rd or 4th week. Sorry for the inconvenience,” the company said on its help forums.

Resolving the issue through an updated Extras + Info appears to have been much simpler than delivering new firmware to the smartphone, due to the fact that the latter would have had to get through the carrier approval process.

However, there’s no telling on whether the new app release has indeed resolved the problem entirely, or only made things a little better for users.

You can find Extras + Info 3.4.3.5 in the Windows Phone Store. If you have a Lumia 1520 and you have experienced said issues before, let us know how things go for you after updating the application.
