The press conference is expected to take place in UAE

It looks like previous rumors suggesting Nokia and Microsoft pushed back the launch of Lumia 1520 phablet to next month were pretty accurate.

The Finnish company has just announced a “save the date” special event for October 22, the same time frame that we wrote about last week.

Although Nokia did not reveal where exactly the event would take place, the teaser suggests it might be held in the Middle East, possibly Abu Dhabi, UAE.

We’ve been expecting Nokia to make the Lumia 1520 (Bandit) official, but the initial press event has been canceled, so it’s likely that the company will introduce the smartphone next month.

On the other hand, Nokia might just announce the availability of its Lumia 1020 in the Middle East. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
