20-year-old Raynaldo Rivera – known on the hacking scene as LulzSec’s “neuron”, “wildicv”, or “royal” – pleaded guilty to conspiracy to knowingly and intentionally cause damage to a protected computer.

Rivera not only admitted to be part of the infamous LulzSec hacker collective, but also to have accessed and leaked Sony Pictures’ databases, We Are Legion informs.

Sony Pictures representatives claim that the damages caused by the group’s malicious activities are over $600,000 (480,000 EUR).

The hacker will be sentenced on March 14, 2013. He faces a maximum of 5 years in prison with a 3-year supervised release, and a fine that could be as much as $250,000 (200,000 EUR).

Rivera, who lives in Tempe, Arizona, turned himself in at the end of August after authorities officially charged him for his participation in the attack that targeted Sony Pictures.
