Individuals associated with the LulzSec hacking group have possibly been arrested in the UK, US and the Netherlands, but the outfit denies that any of its core members were taken into custody.

The US Department of Justice announced yesterday the arrest of sixteen individuals across the United States who were involved in attacks orchestrated by Anonymous.

One of the arrested individuals, Scott Matthew Arciszewski, 21, is accused of hacking into a website belonging to an FBI affiliate organization called InfraGard.

"Today’s operational activities were done in coordination with the Metropolitan Police Service in the United Kingdom and the Dutch National Police Agency," the DoJ said.

"The United Kingdom’s Metropolitan Police Service arrested one person and the Dutch National Police Agency arrested four individuals today for alleged related cyber crimes," it added.

Fox News reports that the suspect arrested in UK is 16 years old and lives in South London. It also cites a US law enforcement source who claims that his online handle is "tflow."

Tflow is believed to be closely associated with LulzSec. Earlier this month, in an attempt to expose the real identities of LulzSec's members, a rival group called TeaMp0isoN identified tflow as one Suliaman (or Solomon) Saleh, living at 91 Blandford Street in London.

TeaMp0isoN also released information about other alleged LulzSec members, including topiary, power2all, Sabu and JoePie91. Of those, power2all and JoePie91 are supposedly based in the Netherlands and might have been among the four suspects arrested there.

LulzSec, which recently came out of retirement, denies that any of its core members were arrested. "There are six of us, and we're all still here," the group said on Twitter.

For fifty days, starting in April, the hacking outfit has attacked companies and hacked into websites indiscriminately. During this time, the group's members have always adopted a cocky "you can't catch us" attitude towards law enforcement agencies.
