Lucy Gordon Left Two Notes Before Hanging Herself

“There is no question of foul play,” the father of the young British actress who was found dead in her Paris apartment the other day tells the media, as quoted by the Daily Mail. Mr. Gordon, still distraught over his daughter’s decision to end her own life, says that police are still investigating the case, but there is little doubt her death was anything but a suicide since she left two notes behind her.

According to the publication, Lucy Gordon, who had a minor part in “Spider-Man” and was about to have one of the films where she played lead open in Cannes, wrote two letters before hanging herself in the flat she shared with her boyfriend, whose identity has been revealed as famed cinematographer Jerome Alveras. In one note, Gordon settled matters pertaining to her estate, while the other was addressed to her parents and was meant as an explanation for her final act. The contents of neither have been made public, and there are no expectations for it to happen anytime soon either.

Alveras, whom Lucy presumably met while working on “Cineman,” a film that is currently in post-production, is still cooperating with the police since he continues to be the first suspect in the case, should foul play be ruled out. It was Alveras who discovered the body of the actress and who alerted the police. The night Lucy hung herself neighbors reported hearing noises coming from the apartment as the two lovers were violently arguing. At the same time, Alveras has been telling investigators the young actress, who should have turned 29 these days, could not overcome depression stemming from the suicide of a close friend in the UK.

“Her death has come completely out of the blue and the entire family is devastated. Everything about how she died is just speculation at the minute, and we want to concentrate on paying tribute to our daughter. We have loved her so much throughout her life. She was the light of mine, her mum’s, and her sister’s lives. Lucy was a lovely, generous and unselfish person who always gave so much thought to other people and put them before herself.” Mr. Gordon was saying yesterday, as news of Lucy’s death reached the media.

Lucy Gordon, 29, was an actress and a famous model studying to get her A-levels in history, biology and French. All those who’ve known her regret her passing and describe her as the sweetest, most hard-working young woman they ever met, Alveras included.
