ABC pulls the plug on new fall series after disappointing ratings

ABC has just named its first ratings victim this fall and it is ironically called “Lucky 7,” a drama about a group of gas station workers who play the lottery together, win, and have to split the $45 million (€33.1 million) prize – and all the heartache that goes with it.

A trailer for the series is included above.

Though networks usually wait at least 3 weeks until they decide the fate of a show, as Entertainment Weekly confirms, ABC did not have this kind of patience in this case and axed “Lucky 7” after just 2.

“Lucky 7 premiered to 4.4 million viewers and a lowly 1.3 adults 18-49 rating last week, making it ABC’s lowest-rated drama premiere in years despite the evening launching with mega-rated Agents of S.H.I..E.L.D.,” the publication says.

“For its second episode on Tuesday night, Lucky 7′s adult demo rating plummeted to a 0.7 (not the show’s lucky number, apparently) to rank as broadcast’s lowest-rated show that evening. Scandal repeats will fill its 10 p.m. slot starting next week,” adds the same report.

The cancelation might make sense as far as numbers are concerned but, right now, there are at least 4.4 million fans who are incredibly upset that the network did not give “Lucky 7” a fighting chance. Are you among them as well?
