Luciano Pavarotti Honored for Working on Behalf of the Red Cross

The Italian tenor Luciano Pavarotti was honored for a decade of work on behalf of the British Red Cross.

Luciano Pavarotti received the Freedom of the City of London award and a Red Cross Award for Services to Humanity in a special ceremony.

The 69-year-old Italian tenor, made a stop in London for he is making a worldwide concert tour.

We greatly value his support and commitment over the years to the humanitarian work of the Red Cross,' British Red Cross Vice President Maria Shammas told the BBC.

We are very pleased that he is able to be here in person to receive both the freedom of the City and the British Red Cross Award, Shamas added.
