Nokia has released 7 new phone models in New Delhi, India. They are all affordable
solutions for people
that need a mobile phone in order to communicate and write text messages rather than for entertainment. Nokia 1200 and Nokia 1208 are two of the cheapest models released in this wave.
They both have the same appearance, with 102 x 44.1 x 17.5 mm dimensions and a display of 96x68 pixels. The only difference between the two phone models is that Nokia 1200 has a display with green backlight instead of a color one, as the other one does.
The two phone models come equipped with 5 available phonebooks, which makes it possible for an entire family to use the same phone and also to store phone numbers in a personal space. Another featured facility helps the phone owner(s) reduce calling costs with the help of a pre-set timer. This allows for setting a time limit that will immediately end the call as soon as it is reached.
"
Nokia continues to address the needs and aspirations of people in emerging markets by making its mobile phones accessible to more consumers and enabling positive community development.", said Soren Petersen, Senior Vice President at Nokia. Furthermore, he underlines the fact that "The sharing of a mobile phone allows many consumers in entry markets to experience the benefits of mobility firsthand."
Nokia 1200 will be available in the second quarter of year 2007, whereas the other model won't be out until the third quarter of this year. The estimated price is of 35 EUR for the Nokia 1200 and of 40 EUR for Nokia 1208.
