One of the iPhone models that Apple has been long rumored to plan on bringing to the market is a so-called cheaper flavor, though it seems that the smartphone will still be priced high, at least this is what Pegatron’s CEO suggests.

According to a recent article on China Times, the smartphone might be called low-end, yet it won’t be as cheap as many might have expected it to be, at least when compared to other devices, Apple Insider reports.

This statement also confirms that the company is indeed manufacturing the device, following reports that it would plan on hiring some tens of thousands of workers in the second half of the year to boost production.

No specific details on the actual cost of the cheaper iPhone have been provided, and it still remains to be seen how much users will actually have to pay for it, so stay tuned.
