New VoIP solution released

Skype is getting some tough competition as a new VoIP solution was officially rolled out and seems to represent the most powerful challenger it can get. The bad thing about it is that Loudtalks is currently available only for the Windows platforms, the 0.9.0.20 being compatible only with Microsoft's operating system. The good thing is that the application can be used for free just like Skype so give it a try and tell us what you think. The program was officially launched today at the TechCrunch40 conference. In order to communicate on the Internet, you'll need a microphone and a headset or some speakers so I guess the application is quite similar with Skype.

"Loudtalks brings voice back to the internet communications. It's a little application, which allows you to talk to your friends or collegues instantly with a single touch of a button. Think walkie talkie. It's faster than text chat and more convinient than calls. Loudtalks is available for Windows right now, but we are working hard to bring it to other platforms soon, including your mobile phone," the official page of the product states.

I guess this is the perfect moment to become a Skype rival because the famous VoIP software solution was recently affected by a serious glitch which redirected the users to some other alternatives. It seems like Yahoo Messenger and a few other applications recorded considerable boosts of users as the Skype fans were unable to use their programs to communicate on the web.

However, Loudtalks is a new player on the market and I'm not sure if it's able to become a real threat for Skype. At this time, the official page of the application says Loudtalks was downloaded for 521 times so it has all the chances to become famous since this is only its first day in the wild.
