Lost Planet for PS3 Is in Game Shops Now

- Featuring all maps and new characters

By: Calin Ciabai, Games Editor

The sci-fi action shooter that you have probably experienced already on the Xbox 360 console or PC system is now available in game shops all over the North America for the PlayStation 3 and it comes with
a suggested retail price of $39.99. As expected, the PS3 version of Lost Planet: Extreme Condition comes with some new features that will make its PC and Xbox little brothers cry.

First of all, you'll get a bunch of new unlockable characters for both the single and multiplayer modes, including Frank West from the recently sued Dead Rising, the worldwide known Megaman and others. Also, all the 16 previously released multiplayer maps are available on one disc and that includes the extra DLC from the Xbox Live. No, it comes packed with the game, you won't have to pay extra for it.

In Lost Planet, human snow pirates navigate through hostile ice-covered environments, fighting against the indigenous Akrid creatures for the precious thermal energy they need to survive. For a pilot named Wayne, death seemed imminent until he was fortunately rescued. However, he can only remember a few fragments of his past including the slaying of his father by the monstrous beings – this is, of course, the classic loss of memory we all got tired with but, well... life's tough sometimes. And you will have to solve the mystery, shoot some aliens and go home happy with your brand new memory.

Still, the most intense action will come from the multiplayer game modes, and you'll have them all with up to 16 friends online: Elimination, Team Elimination (the classic deathmatch and team deathmach modes), Post Grab or Fugitive (a very nice game mode where one player is assigned as the "Fugitive", and he or she will earn points for various actions such as staying alive, killing enemies etc).

So, for a game developed by the creators of Onimusha and Devil May Cry you can only be really happy that Lost Planet: Extreme Condition finally got into the stores and it is available for your PS3s.
