A document signed by Abraham Lincoln precisely 150 years ago, i.e. in 1863, surfaced at Lyoming College in Pennsylvania just a few days back.

Funnily enough, the document was discovered by mistake by retiring School President James Douthat as he was cleaning his closet.

The former school president reportedly told the press that, though he had been told that the document was hidden somewhere within the Lycoming College's premises, he never really bothered to look for it. Sources explain that the 150-year-old document is a certificate naming the college's founder, Benjamin Crever, a Civil War Chaplain.

Abraham Lincoln's signature is clearly visible at the bottom.

The certificate appears to be in good conditions, and will remain at Lycoming College until historians and college officials decide what is best to do with it.

Here's hoping it won't go missing again anytime soon.
