Lost in Blue follows the relationship of the hero and the heroine who are trapped on a mysterious deserted island after a disastrous incident at sea. The young hero of the game awakens to find himself on a seemingly uninhabited island. After meeting another survivor, a 17-year old girl who has also drifted ashore, they must cooperate to survive.
While planning their escape, the two will learn survival skills, such as hunting, searching for food and building tools while uncovering the island's many mysteries. In their quest to survive, players will use completely original gameplay concepts including many innovative mini-games throughout their adventures. Highlighting these innovations is the ability to close the lid of the DS while cooking food - resembling closing the lid to a pot - for a designated time period in order to ensure that the food is cooked to perfection. Close the lid too long and the food will be burned, while opening the lid too quickly will result in an undercooked dinner.
Lost in Blue's gameplay uses most features of the DS handheld console. In the fire building sequence, the player must alternate pressing of the L and R buttons in order to build enough friction on the wood, and then blow into the microphone of the DS to successfully ignite the fire. The touch screen interface is used for navigating menus, and the island can be explored and interacted with using either the touch screen or the standard control buttons. The game has not one, but several endings such as Escape via Skye's Lifeboat, Escape via The Radio, Escape via Cargo Crates, Escape via The Boat and, of course, the Universal Ending.
HINTS
Escape with raft
If you want to try to escape the island with the raft, you must do the following things: approach the raft and realize that is useable; find the flare from the enemy's hideout; and take Skye along with you. On your way home, you will see a ship. If you did not get the flare, it will not see you and go away. You and Skye will then starve to death.
Unlimited goat milk
On Skye mode, after you get a goat, get as many bottles as you want milk. Fill one of them up with water and give it to the goat. Milk it and normally fill up one bottle; however, quick save next to it and turn off the DS. Turn the game back on and milk the goat again. You can do this as many times as desired as long as you quick save and reload after each milk.
