I was just looking at some of the maps the people interested in the presidential elections have created and I could not help but be amazed at their ingenuity. Following in the footsteps of their politically oriented fellow Google Maps users, the fans of the
Lost series have set up a map to welcome the fourth season, to begin January 31st.
All the locations mentioned in the show are on the map, pinned with a note about when it was mentioned, under what circumstances and a list of all the times it was talked about. One of the most interesting notes that I found was that of Fiji where somebody careful enough observed that the issue of PLAYPEN that was found in Sawyer's stash had a "15th Annual Girls of Fiji Pictorial." If that's not paying attention to details, I don't know what is.
Some interesting trivia facts have been also included, by the numbers, really, and Jessica Lee, who wrote about it on the Google Lat Long Blog confessed that she never stopped to wonder what position the Lost people had when talking about a place or the other. "For example, did you know that the characters were lying whenever they mentioned Canada? I never noticed that." I must confess that neither have I, but then again, I'm not such a big fan of the series. Just like Prison Break, they're diluting the plot to make the episodes last longer and I'm not into that kind of things. HBO's Rome, on the other hand but I'm digressing.
If you care to actually see the place where Sawyer grew up and where his sad story unfolded or if you want to see the location of the Hanso Foundations offices just click the map and submerge in the information about your favorite show. I'll not be joining you in this one.
