Women who favor cocktails over regular sessions at the gym may have found their answer to the ever-present problem of dropping a few pounds. Sky Sports presenter Georgie Thompson has set up a website that is admittedly the contrary of what women going on women’s websites would expect. IAmSuperChick boasts of offering, among others, useful tips for women who wish to work on their figure without having to leave the house.

Of course, now they can, while also cleaning up their apartment or house. It’s a known fact that certain activities around the house can actually burn more calories than a simple workout, while studies in this direction have also established a certain connection between women who do more housework and a decreased occurrence of certain types of cancer, as we also reported earlier. Therefore, there are countless reasons to pick up the broom and vacuum, stay in shape and do some cleaning, one might say.

However, any type of chaotic exercise won’t do. The idea is simple: we’re to use items around the house, items that we’d use as we clean up and mix in some twists and gym-specific moves, Thompson recommends. For instance, a can of beans can be a makeshift weight that we use to tone our arms and prevent the appearance of the much-dreaded “bingo wings.” So, after taking the can out of the fridge, right before opening it to cook it, we can spare a few minutes to use it as a weight to strengthen our arms.

The same goes for polishing floors, Thompson assures. As Mr. Miyagi would say, “Wax on, wax off” and, in almost no time, the bingo wings should be a matter of the past. For the lower part of the body, Thompson recommends the always-efficient lunges, which can be interspersed with the steps we take when vacuuming or using the mop on the bathroom tiles. Granted, all these might look funny at first, but they’re moves guaranteed to get women back in shape. Just put on some music and you’ll soon see, Thompson assures us.

“It’s much harder during the winter to motivate yourself up off the sofa and out of the house to do any form of fitness. That’s why we devised a way for women to hibernate and get fit at the same time using our home training videos. Regularly updated, they are easy to use and like having a personal trainer in your front room without paying the hefty price tag.” Thompson tells the British media as to how she came up with the idea for the out-of-the-ordinary workout.
