The upcoming medieval action role-playing game from CI Games and Deck 13, Lords of the Fallen, just got a brand new set of screenshots showing its gorgeous graphics and serving as a sort of cautionary tale about being too nosy.

The images show various enemies that players will be fighting in-game once the title ships, but they also reveal why it's not always a good idea to snoop around and poke your nose into all the shiny chests you see scattered around.

The screenshots follow the release of the latest Lords of the Fallen gameplay video, showing the level of determination required in order to tackle the challenging enemies you'll encounter and proving that the game's comparison to Dark Souls is not grounded solely on the game's general outlook.

The upcoming game's development process is led by the former head of the Witcher series, and the title is being created with the intent for it to be easy to pick up but difficult to master, focusing on complex combat interactions revolving around combos and timely use of special abilities.

Lord of the Fallen is currently scheduled for release on the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One platforms, sometime during this fall.
