The upcoming RPG couldn't extract power from the Xbox One

Lords of the Fallen developer CI Games has confirmed that, while the PS4 and the Xbox One versions of the upcoming role-playing game are practically the same, the native resolution is lower on the Xbox One, reaching 900p, while on the PS4 it reaches the 1080p mark.

Lords of the Fallen is among the few all-new intellectual properties set to appear this fall, and Polish studio CI Games has already made it clear that it has a lot of faith in the challenging role-playing game, which is set to debut at the end of next month on the PC, PS4, and Xbox One platforms.

While the game is going to look quite impressive on the PC, as highlighted in our recent hands-on session with the game at Nvidia's Game24 event in London over the weekend, not much has been heard about the console editions of the RPG.

Xbox One version runs at 900p, PS4 at 1080p

Now, in order to shed some light on this subject, CI Games Creative Director Tomasz Gop has talked with Videogamer about the console versions of Lords of the Fallen and what differences there are between the Xbox One and PS4 editions.

While Gop mentions that the two versions are "pretty much similar," there is one major difference between them – the native resolution.

The developer reveals that on the Xbox One the resolution is 900p, while on the native PS4 it reaches the full HD benchmark of 1080p.

"But apart from that there's nothing different I would say," Gop adds, when talking about the two devices.

The game is close to completion

Gop also shoots down the possibility of launching a day-one update for Lords of the Fallen on the Xbox One to improve the native resolution, as apparently the game is close to completion and the studio is focusing on getting everything done ahead of its release next month. As such, it doesn't have time to work on a patch for the game, at least for now.

"It's really, really close [to completion]," Gop adds. "Pretty much the only thing that we're doing is last minute fixes, but we've already been certified. We're already past the US certification for PlayStation."

Lords of the Fallen is set to deliver its challenging role-playing experience on October 28 in North America and October 31 in Europe for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One platforms. You can expect to learn more about it as we enter the next month.
